Tombstone Tuesday - James Smedley

Grace and Calvin Smedley standing behind the headstone of their son and my uncle James Joynes Smedley. James was born 14 Jul 1930 in Paris, Bear Lake, Idaho and died 8 Dec 1953 in Lund, Nevada. He was buried 12 Dec 1953 in the Lund Cemetery in Lund, White Pine, Nevada.



Uncle Jimmy was killed by an exploding oil drum while he is working at the Kennecott Copper mine in Ely, Nevada 6 months before his only daughter was born. I sure wish I could have known him. I know he was an awesome guy.
