Treasure Chest Thursday -- My Photo Pedigree

I was trying to figure out all night last night what sort of treasure I was going to post this week, and then it came to me. I am very fortunate to have as many photos of my ancestors as I do, because I am sure there are others out there who don't have many at all. So I want to share my photo pedigree that I have hanging on the wall (eventually I will get a frame).

This is indeed a priceless treasure to me. Hopefully someday I can add to it.

  1. Do frame it so that it it preserved and ensure continuity by passing it to the next generation for them to keep and follow and add to it

  2. How did you do it? Is it scanned or did you photoshop put it together? I love the pictorial family pedigree.
    Thank you

  3. Very impressive. You have done an excellent job putting your photo pedigree together. It is an inspiration to me to give it a try, but I don't know if I have the wealth of photos that you have.

  4. Be sure to frame it. I love what you have done, and will probably steal the idea!

  5. This is awesome, Leslie Ann! I'm gonna have to steal the idea too--although I think mine will be a lot smaller... about 15 pictures, I think, including me. Still... really cool thing to have!

    1. Actually it has been folded up in my genealogy book for about 25 years. I pulled it out and thought to myself, "self -- this needs to be out on display not hiding away somewhere!!!" So I pinned it to the wall and took a picture of it.

I then transferred the picture I took to the computer and copy and pasted over some of the photos that were grainy looking, or had glare spots on them. (I must confess, I did paste a whole different picture of myself over the one that is actually on there because I didn't like it. ;)

I will probably have to put a border around it to make it fit in a frame.

  7. It is wonderful! What a great idea. I've created a page such as this within the confines of FamilyTreemaker, but I really like the large one you can create with individual pictures. Great job.
