Treasure Chest Thursday -- 1942 Tax Forms

Coming to you today from my special shoebox is grandma & grandpa Smedley's 1942 tax records. Notice on page 2 that you actually list the names of your dependents.

The next form is a 1040 F -- Schedule Of Farm Income And Expenses. I guess he didn't have to report it on his 1040.

I even have a couple of pieces of paper that he wrote his tax figures on.

  1. The tax accountant in me has to wonder why the Form 1040F net income didn't find it's way onto the Form 1040...
Really neat, especially the hand written notes.
    Thanks for sharing!!

  2. This is very interesting. Maybe I should not be tossing out my tax records after ten years....someone down the line might want them. I never thought of them in a genealogy way...but they definately are.
